Ecosystems
In Yellowknife in late November, the daily high temperatures have ranged from -5 to -15C and everything is covered in snow. While these conditions may seem very cold and wintery to people who live further south, everyone here is talking about how unusually warm the fall has been. It's a good reminder that climate change is relative to the objective historic norms for each region, not the individual subjective experiences of different places.
