The herons of Harry Road

Great Blue Herons nested near our summer home on the Sunshine Coast. The three chicks were very noisy every time one of the adults arrived to feed them. I spent hours watching and taking pictures, as did our neighbours. These are beautiful birds when sitting on the nest and flying. We learned that a car parked under a heron nest needs frequent washing. We were pleased to see all three fly off. It was all good to see, we are hoping they come back this spring. Enjoying the beauty of nature is good for the soul, or mental health if you prefer. Taking steps to slow climate change makes me feel better.
