The summer of smoke

Thompson-Okanagan
Air Quality| Extreme heat| Mental health impacts| Wildfire
The wildfire smoke in the summer of 2017 left daily life in Kamloops feeling hazy and unhealthy. The extreme Air Quality Health Index left vulnerable residents feeling especially stressed, and many experienced disrupted routines, poorer well-being, and a constant sense of being trapped by the smoke.
