Urbanization meets nature

Air Quality| Mental health impacts
This image of empty land behind my backyard in Maple Ridge really makes me think about how urbanization impacts our environment. The construction site represents progress, but it also brings up concerns about long term effects as it plays a big role in carbon emissions. It made me realize how important it is to push for greener building practices. With all the dust, materials, and noise, I can't help but think about how it affects both our physical and mental health. It’s a reminder that we need to find ways to balance development with protecting our environment for future generations.
